Vans, the lifestyle brand known for its iconic influence on skateboarding culture decided to host a dance competition to see if they could garner interest for future events.

Problem

  • Vans had not done a dance event since the 80’s when it unveiled its own version of B-Boy shoes
  • Did not know how to combine the freestyle and choreography scene

Goal

  • Have as many people attend as possible
  • Provide the best experience to garner interest for future events
  • Have pre registrations to ensure there would be attendees

Strategy

It was decided that an organic Instagram marketing strategy with no paid ads was going to be used to promote the event. I created content to promote the event including Instagram posts and video graphics.

Results

The event had a great turnout and it justified future events in the future.
